Kolkata " The City of Joy "

Calcutta, the City of Joy! It was Calcutta when The French author Dominique Lapierre wrote his famous book The City of Joy.

A multi-dimensional city, Kolkata draws some choosy travelers from the foreign land. Though the attractions are less in comparison to other metros of India, yet Kolkata has some hidden beauty including beaches, temples, churches and colonial heritage. You might have heard about Eden Garden, the second largest cricket stadium in the world. It is Kolkata which was a major trade centre for the British; it is the home city of first Asia’s Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, internationally famous film director Satyajit Roy who won several awards for his creation, mainly for the Apu Trilogy.
